Sis Ursula Jebmani

India Bengaluru Mission

2012-2013

My name is Ursula. I was born and raised in Chennai .The Lord placed me in a home with loving parents and two elder sisters. When I was 14 years old, my Elder Sister learned from her friends from another church that she should be baptized, in order to be saved. When she was contemplating on this decision then she quickly decided to be baptized without our father’s knowledge in that church. One day when she was about to receive baptism, While standing in the line to receive that ordinance, she had a very strong impression that she had to help her family members also to be saved through that ordinance of baptism, so she immediately left that place but still thinking to find a way to get all the family members to be baptized so that we will be saved together as a family. Soon after this incident my father happened to meet the missionaries from the LDS church, and invited them to come home to share the gospel message with us. When I started to learn from the missionaries, I did not understand much of what they said, and when I attended the church meeting, I heard many words that didn’t make sense to me, such as Relief society, Aaronic priesthood and so on? But I still remember the impressions, the feeling of peace and joy I experienced at the church. That peaceful feeling grow close to my heart which helped to make a decision to be baptized which is the best decision of my life, that has blessed and changed my life. I knew through that feeling in my heart that this was all God’s plan for me and my family. Growing up in a faithful Christian family I always had a desire to serve God and His children, I was inspired by many Nuns who devoted their lives to serve God and his people through missionary work, I had the opportunity to study in a school where many women devoted their lives to become Nuns and missionaries. After becoming a member of the LDS church, I learned from the missionaries as well as at church, that I can also serve as a full time missionary, this was an answer to my prayer. Later I prepared myself to apply to become a missionary to serve the Lord. I was called to serve as a full time missionary in 2012 to the Philippines Naga mission. Six months later my assignment was changed by the mission president to come back to serve in the India Bengaluru Mission. I am grateful to have had this opportunity to be one of those first Sister missionaries to be assigned to serve in the India Bengaluru mission after quite a long time. My Mission has made me the person I am today and strengthened my testimony in the gospel, my understanding of the Savior’s atonement has increased, as well as teaching people in different places with different language has helped me to love them as the Savior did and let them feel the spirit, it was truly great learning experience and the best 18 months of my life. Through all of these experiences and miracles that I have witnessed, I have learnt the profound truth of God our Eternal Father and His son Jesus Christ and His love for all of us, I also know for myself that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to change someone’s life as we exercise faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, I testify with all my heart that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is His church, all those who exercise faith in Him will be blessed in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
